Role Summary
The Select Business Unit Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing an assigned portfolio of commercial insurance clients. In this role, you will act as the main point of contact, addressing client needs, processing renewals, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages and industry trends, as well as excellent communication and time management skills.
What You Will Do
- Maintain a results focused performance and identify opportunities for improvement within our SBU Model and present to the SBU Manager/ VP - Service
- Maintain assigned book of business, with a minimum retention rate of 90%, reviewing account for opportunities to sell additional lines of coverage
- Working renewal or remarkets per agency workflow adhering to agency guidelines and time frames
- Established understanding of the renewal process, provide accurate and updated carrier submissions, and proposals for renewng policies
- Successful negotiations with brokers and/or carriers on new or renewal coverages, forms, rates, etc. Sharing knowledge with the team as appropriate
- Prepare renewal I.D. cards, evidence of property, certificates, and/or binders
- Understand how coverage questions may relate to claims and assist Claims Department in providing coverage information and be able to assess risks on accounts for potential claims, determine how coverage questions may relate to claims, and provide solutions for any gaps
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Property & Casualty insurance license required
- 5+ years of Account Management Experience
- Proficiency in Applied Systems, electronic signature platforms, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and related tools
